Last year, after reading a very negative column about the Homeless Youth Alliance and San Francisco Needle Exchange, I wanted to see how it operates for myself. Mary Howe, the Director of HYA/SFNE allowed me to visit her & the other volunteers on a number of occasions.
Initially, CW Nevius gave them a bad wrap, but his update that ran last Saturday seemed to give them a little more credit.
I have been trying to get in touch with her again, wanted to record audio for the photo story and put together a multimedia piece about them.
